No.347 - October 2010
Our theme for the year:
“I saw a huge crowd”
AKWABA [1] How many times have I heard this word during my visits to the Rosary Teams of the Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso in July?
AKWABA this word greeted me at the airport, at the station, in meetings of the teams, in families, in communities.
AKWABA to wrap me in the traditional cloth of recognition that the team members wear in these countries.
AKWABA to introduce the two good news to share by older members before they begin to speak
AKWABA for meetings with the Dominican brothers and sisters, for meetings with the bishops and priests of the parishes, for all the celebrations so fervent and full of joy.
AKWABA for Father Eyquem who inspired my thoughts during my mission.
AKWABA to Father Carlos Alfonso Aspiroz Costa, Master of the Order of Preachers for the approval of the Charter which gives its proper place to the International Coordination Committee and recommends the experience of the Rosary Teams to the members of the Dominican family.
AKWABA "I saw a huge crowd that nobody could count". The Rosary teams of the Ivory Coast have celebrated their thirty years anniversary; those of Burkina Faso have existed for twenty years, adult age, the age when they must strengthen their roots. They carry within them the grace to advance further in the missionary adventure initiated by Father Eyquem in 1955.
AKWABA this word will long resonate in my ears as in my heart, just as the teams, rallying cry: "Team members - the Gospel with Marie", which sounds like a call to order to be attentive to listen to the Word for better living and witness.
