No.340 - February 2010
Our theme for the year:
“Lord how to give you thanks?”
And what if Lent was not only an austere time of penance, but an apprenticeship of true joy: Paschal Joy?
After those last centuries of preaching a christianity of effort and penance, we rediscover , since the Council, that the Church is the people of the baptized, meaning: converts turned to Christ who died and rose for us.
Of course, we are responsible in welcoming God’s grace in our open hearts. However, it is true that the worldwide culture to-day turns us towards the king money and instant gratifications.
May this Lent, which opens before us, make us taste the joy of welcoming the grace of the risen Lord in a new heart and prepare us for the great feast of Easter.
It is in this spirit that the International Committee of the Rosary Teams gathers this month at FANJEAUX, in the south of France, the cradle of the Order of St. Dominic.
May this living link between us throughout the world be a witness of the joy of praying and living “for a believing world!”
