Monday 25 January 2010
At the start of the year, if there is a custom which we all follow, it is the exchange of greetings. We will not create an exception to the rule.
May this year 2010 be lived by each of us as a Holy Year...with Mary.
May the child she gives us in Bethlehem illuminate each of our days! May he bring peace to our world which needs it so much!
Lately, we have had years dedicated to one or other aspect of our faith, to give a particular boost to our christian life, to help us discover this or that facet.
Thus we are at the heart of a year of the priest, centered on the holy Curé d’Ars. Christian faithful are encouraged to discover the beauty of priesthood, to pray for vocations and for our priests that they may be faithful to their calling.
Is it a reason to forget Mary?
Of course not!
So, this new year, we will entrust it to Our Lady!
She is the Mother of the Church and loves priests with a particular love.
Let us ask her to keep our Holy Father, Benedict XVI and watch over our bishops.
Let us ask her to give her faith, her charity and her faithfulness to all priests.
Let us ask her, finally, to give us holy priests, many holy priests.
And let us give her thanks ceaselessly; she is the Mother of God, the Mother of the Church and our Mother .
Thank you, Our Lady of the Rosary
We will live this year with you!
