No.352 - March 2011
Our theme for the year:
“I saw a huge crowd”
Lent, it is going to the essential. To drop what is unnecessary, superfluous, what weighs us down and prevents us from following Jesus with a brisk pace to the Great Week of Christians all around the world.
During this march, the question of Jesus is: “Who is the neighbour of this victim of the violence of mankind, thrown by the side of the road?” It becomes our essential question today: who is my / our neighbour?
In this parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus is at once victim – is he not the innocent nailed to the cross – and the Saviour, this stranger who sees the victim and comes to his help
The essential for us is to see and to come to the help of those who are thrown by the roadside, in our families, villages and neighbourhood.
And to act like this both in the name of the Gospel, which opens our eyes, and to meet Jesus in the poor and despised.
This is how the Risen one addresses Paul on the way to Damascus:
“I am Jesus whom you persecute”
An essential question, therefore, for an essential meeting with Jesus today.
This is exactly the program of a Rosary Team.
