A great sense of peace emanates from this landscape. The photograph was taken a few days before Christmas, on a road in Zambia, between the town of Ndola and the school of Fatima, founded and run by the missionary Dominican Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
This photo is an ideal illustration of what a jubilee is: it is taken from a certain spot and your gaze is lost in contemplation of the horizon. With roots in a history one can look towards the future, with serenity and courage.
The lake of tranquil waters reflects the sky. Finally, sky and earth come to resemble each other. It just requires a little quietness and patience.
And in their resemblance, they even take on the colours so often attributed to Our Lady, white and blue!
That is our Jubilee!
Look towards the future, enriched by our beautiful history of 800 years.
Launch ourselves into the conquest of great spiritual spaces, with Mary… so that more and more earth comes to resemble sky!
