And yet, we exchange wishes, make good resolutions at the beginning of this New Year 2014. Resolutions which will last what they will last…
The beginning of a year is first written in the end of another year. And beginning something new is an opportunity to look behind, to see what 2013 has been. No doubt that the year just passed has had its lights and shadows, its joys and sorrows, its successes and failures. It has been what it has been and we have to give thanks.
As Saint Jeanne Jugan, the founder of The Little Sisters of the Poor said, “We must always say, blessed be God. thank you God, or glory to God!”. And this, whatever the circumstances!
So, let us give thanks to God for the year just ended!
The beginning of a year is also and especially the opportunity for looking forward, towards the future, with confidence and always with hope!
And so, let us entrust this New Year to the Lord through the intercession of the Virgin Mary!
Let us ask them to watch over our pope Francis, to help him still and always!
Let us ask them for peace. Peace in the heart of all, in families, in communities, in our countries and in the world!
Let us ask them to watch over our families, the foundation of our societies.
Let us take up again our Rosaries!
Here is a good resolution for 2014!
And a resolution to keep … firmly!
Happy New Year to each and everyone!
